Meeting Street Market in Cedar Walk – Live, Work & Eat Your Veggies in Ballantyne!

Farm to Table Produce!

The buzzer visited Ballantyne’s Meeting Street Market located in Cedar Walk on the corner of Marvin Rd and Ardrey Kell. Cedar Walk is an interesting mix of restaurants, townhomes, services such as Bird Pediatric Dentistry– and even a pharmaceutical compounding store – Carolina Compounding! Now, Cedar Walk in Ballantyne offers a Farmers Market every Tuesday afternoon from 4pm until dark.

And it is a cool place to visit for local produce plus so much more. First thing I noticed was the melodious strumming of a guitar – a musician was serenading the strolling shoppers as theyperused the various tents offering honey, handmade soaps from Faery Kiss

Naturals, prepared foods such as Turkey Meatloaf with Sundried Tomatoes & Salsa Verde Chicken Enchiladas prepared by Switchin Kitchens, freshly roasted pecans, cashews and assorted nuts from Chosen Roasterplus freshly baked bread from the Breadsmithout of Fort Mill, SC. And if that was not enough, you can visit Nelly whose

baked delectables range from Pistachio Praline Tarts, Smoked Gouda & Broccoli pieto low sugar ginger cookies – the artistry of these baked goods was amazing. Nelly shared with me that she was opening a shop, Nelly’s Naturalsin Uptown Charlotte soon – lucky Center City!

The nicest produce was at The Specialty Farmer booth but I learned that this was his last week to be at the Meeting Street Market. He is out of Waxhaw and said it was easier for him to just sell out of his usual stand in Waxhaw. Too bad! But there were a few other produce booths and I am sure someone else will join this market.

Cedar Walk has a great urban vibe. You can walk out of your front door, stroll over to Cast Iron

Waffles for breakfast, get your teethexamined at the dentist, buy the latest eyewear at Blink and then enjoy some great Italian fare at Lorenzo’s Pizza. Later that day, you can pick up an afternoon snack at Bagel Bin & Deli or Buffalo Wings & Rings. But, on Tuesday’s you must be buying all that healthy, locally grown, fresh produce at the Meeting Street Market in Ballantyne! The Ballantyne Buzzer hopes to see you there!
