I cant tell you how many of my girlfriends are shopping in consignment shops, on-line and in thrift stores for clothes and accessories! Its a sign of the times. One dear friend whispered to me that her St. John had come from a consignment website Oh my! Well, those days of feeling just a little bit nervous about buyinggently wornclothing are over!
One of the coolest consignment shops “ideas” to open in the Charlotte area, is Green Jeans Consignment! This is not a full time shop but Green Jeans holds two semi-annual shopping events a year! Not only can you find great deals on high-quality items; but, you can add cash to your pocket by consigning items you no longer use. Just some of the labels spotted at Green Jeans are Trina Turk, Seven for all Mankind, Dooney and Burke, Ella Moss and Kate Spade and everyday favorites like Banana Republic, J. Crew and Ann Taylor LOFT. Each season Green Jeans attracts up to 400 consignors and over 1000 shoppers!
So how did Green Jeans Consignment get started?? After attending several local childrens consignment sales and realizing their true passion for scoring high quality fashion for less, sisters Cindy Williams and Dana Degan saw an opportunity to host a shopping event for women and teens that features brand name boutique clothing and accessories.
Green Jeans accepts gently worn, many times new, brand name, boutique and designer clothing, shoes, handbags, jewelry and accessories. Women are notorious for purchasing items and wearing them only once, explains Williams. Our consignors bring in amazing fashions and our shoppers cannot believe what they find and for a fraction of its original price.
So why am I blogging about this?? Next week, Green Jeans Consignment will be hosting its fourth semi-annual womens consignment event March 15-17 in Corneliusand the third semi-annual event March 22-24 in Fort Mill, SC.
And the thing that most impressed the Ballantyne Buzz
Green Jeans is proud to partner with The Give Back Boutique, Lydias Loft, Dress for Success, The Sand Box Evening of Stars Prom, Junior Welfare League of Rock Hill and Flint Hill Baptist Clothing Closet. We donate items that make the most sense for each of our partner non-profits, Williams said.
Green Jeans is currently accepting consignors for its March 15-17 event in Lake Norman and March 22-24 event in Fort Mill. There is a $10 registration fee and all consignors earn 65 percent, and up to 75 percent if they volunteer at the event. Consignors and volunteers are invited to shop the VIP Pre-Sales at each event.
