After you have found a home in Ballantyne, you really should head on over to the new Goodwill Store in Ballantyne, a suburb of Charlotte, NC. Goodwill, you say? Yes, for SO MANY reasons!
After speaking with Michael Elder, President & CEO of Goodwill in the Southern Piedmont area, we were
amazed to learn the economic impact this one Goodwill location will have on the Ballantyne and the surrounding area. The Ballantyne Goodwill Industries store will provide $500,000 in wages and benefits to its employees, many who have barriers to other employment opportunities. PLUS, Elder projects a $2 million impact to the area overall. That is very significant! If the amount of people who attended and shopped on opening day is any indication, this location will be a huge success. People lined up before the store opened and the lines to check-out were wrapped around the store. People were buying everything from business suits to books and bedroom furniture. A rainbow of shirts and tops for women and children plus jeans, jeans and more jeans will make this a great place to shop! This 12,000 square foot facility has about 7,500 square feet of display space with the balance used for receiving donations from the public and storage.
So, head on over to to the Goodwill Ballantyne located on the corner of Johnston and Lancaster Hwy to find those hidden treasures. Clothes, furniture, household goods, toys and accessories at affordable prices are waiting for you. Plus, don’t forget to donate any gently used clothes and household items! And as LaRita Barber, VP / Community Engagement of Goodwill SP, put it: “When you support Goodwill, you are reinvesting in your community.” Well said!
