Well… Independence Day has come and gone. Charlotteans have returned from vacation, are back into routine, and are possibly feeling the post-vacation blues at this point… but don’t let them get you down!
Here are some free, summer events in Charlotte to bring your spirits back up this week (July 9th – July 16th):
1. Movie Under the Stars hosted by the Piedmont Social House – Wednesday, July 12th from 8:30pm – 10:30pm, Free.
Enjoy a nice, Southern meal at this South Charlotte hotspot, followed by a free showing of the summer classic, The Sandlot. Don’t forget your blankets and/or lawn chairs!
2. Live on the Green in First Ward Park – Friday, July 14th at 7pm, Free.
Again, don’t forget your lawn chairs and blankets! Come relax with Bluegrass and Americana music, food trucks and craft beer. This Friday’s featured bands are Scythian and Brushfire Stangrass.
3. Friday Nights at Camp North End – Friday, July 14th, 5:00pm – 9:00pm, Free.
Friday Nights at Camp North End are the hottest events in Charlotte right now. Live music, food trucks, local beer, and local artists come together each Friday to create a memorable experience at this historical industrial site.
4. River Jam at the U.S. National Whitewater Center – Thursday, July 13th and Saturday, July 15th, 7:00pm – 10:00pm, Free ($5 per vehicle parking fee without annual pass).
Enjoy two nights of River Jam this week with Cris Jacobs on Thursday and Elonzo Wesley on Saturday. Want to spend the whole day at the center? Splurge for an activity pass to enjoy rock climbing, zip lining, canopy tours, and more!
5. Wild About Gardening, Wild About Summer at the Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden – Saturday, July 15th from 9:00am – 1:00pm, Free for Garden Members or with General Admission.
There will be a variety of activities, vendors and workshops to inspire outdoor and garden enthusiasts.
