What do howling ghosts, perky pumpkins, scary mummies and fire-breathing dragons have in common?? Well, you could find them all at the 2011 Plaza Midwood Fall Crawl Cankerworm Festivalheld this past weekend ! This annual community event was held by the Plaza Midwood Neighborhood Associationand Savvy + Company Real Estate was one of the sponsors, with a colorful booth and one of the most popular activities – the Bouncy House!!
Plus Savvy + Co, compliments of one of our agents, Brooks Shelley , provided cool Outback Safari hats for the kids to personalize with paint pens -the hatswere a huge hit! And the bags of Halloween candy, toy airplanes, funky bracelets and other treats were grabbed up by the kiddies too – Thanks, Shonn Ross! In addition, one of our favorite chefs and caterer, Thomas Martin, served delicious chili with his special spin ofherbs which was perfect for a cold day…brrrrrrrr! And one of the Buzz’s recommended tree pruning companies, Southern Canopies Tree Serviceowned by Matt Hansen was also was an exhibitor.
There were lots of activities for the kiddies, including live music, pumpkin painting and a Halloween 
parade. And let’s not forget the canker worms – lots of trees were banded to protect them from the damages of this insidious pest. The trees and lush landscaping in historic Plaza Midwood are part of the charm of this beautiful neighborhood…and besides where would the fairies and leprechauns we saw at the festival live without those beautiful trees?? They may have to move next door to Chantilly or NoDa…maybe the Buzz can get them to come on down to Ballantyne…hmmmmm…
